Bremen, 06.06.2016 - SALT AND PEPPER Holding GmbH & Co. KG has acquired 60 per cent of the shares in Bremen-based engineering company FAM-Consult GmbH. Acquiring a majority stake in the company means that SALT AND PEPPER is extending its range of services, adding special skills in the areas of analytical and numerical calculations, construction and structure analysis.
FEM-Consult has been in business since 2003 and act as subcontractors for research and development projects. The company has long-term relationships with well-known clients in the aerospace and shipbuilding industries, for example. It also has wide-ranging specialist skills in the fields of statics and dynamics, durability analysis and design consulting. FEM-Consult also assumes responsibility for the entire projects in mechanical and plant engineering.
Sven Scholz, Chairman of SALT AND PEPPER Holding GmbH and Co. KG says: “By acquiring the FEM-Consult shares together with their higher degree of subcontracting skills, we are strengthening our Technology Consulting division. In combination with our two other divisions, Software Development and Management Consultancy, we are further rounding off our profile as industry’s partner for progress. We see great potential in FEM-Consult’s competences and will be using our position in the market to achieve a targeted expansion of the company.”
Dirk Drewes, CEO of FEM-Consult GmbH says: “The partnership with SALT AND PEPPER provides us with access to a nationwide network of offices with highly qualified staff. Through this we can, on the one hand, acquire new clients and, on the other, consult in future with our existing clients across all locations. Our know-how and our experience is an ideal supplement to the SALT AND PEPPER Group’s expertise.”
FEM-Consult’s 20 staff will operate as an independent unit under the auspices of SALT AND PEPPER Holding. Dirk Drewes and Sven Scholz are the responsible executives. Torben Kabbe, responsible for SALT AND PEPPER’s subcontracting business, will be cooperating very closely with Dirk Drewes, working as authorised officer within the operative management.
The acquisition means that the SALT AND PEPPER Group’s employee total has risen to around 400.
